The Growing Importance of Home Technology

Long since considered miscellaneous in nature by the large majority of citizens. Home technology has evaded most people’s notice simply out of the fact that it seems far too gadgety to be of practical concern. For the longest time, people have primarily thought of themselves to be just fine with whatever is already within their living space during the move-in time. Home Tech Gadgets

This is a grave, if not even fatal, mistake for any homeowner to make, however. Not only is home technology not miscellaneous in nature, but it is, indeed, one of the most important & significant aspects of your home makeup. Missing vital home technology can spell the difference between life & death in a fatal, hectic situation such as a carbon monoxide leak or home robbery. On top of being vitally important to the safety and security of your home, home tech can also serve to improve the general quality of life within the walls of your home.

There are numerous pieces of smart tech that can be seamlessly placed in your home to liven up the mood & lighten the weight of any bad experiences one may have gone through during the day. The Most Crucial Pieces of Home Technology

We’ll now delve into a list of the 4 most crucial and impactful pieces of home technology that one can own, as well as various details regarding each piece. Let’s start with our first piece of home technology, the alarm system.

Alarm System

The very first piece of home technology that would prove crucial to your home stability is an alarm system. An alarm system can assist you with the obvious plight of being alerted in the case of a home intruder attempting a violation of your property, but alarm systems can also prove immensely valuable in their ability to detect various forms of harmful gases such as smoke or carbon monoxide. Home Tech Gadgets

Needless to say, an alarm system is without a doubt a fundamental piece of home tech for any homeowner.

Gas-Heat Treatment

The next crucial piece of home tech for homeowners is the process known as gas heat treatment. Gas-heat treatment is a process by which your home is subjected to a thorough heat treating process under various gaseous atmospheres and temperatures. This process is mainly conducted in order to the hardness, water resistance, tensile strength, fatigue & overall state of quality regarding properties within the Home Tech Gadgets.

This treatment is essentially intended to revitalize the materials that make up your home, enriching their lifespan and providing them new sustenance. A must-have experience for any homeowner, indeed.

Surveillance Equipment

The next crucial piece of home technology that we’ll be diving into today is that of surveillance equipment. Surveillance equipment is of immense importance because it, like the alarm system mentioned earlier, can be very effective at serving as both a prevention & detection system for potential home robberies. Even on a more lighthearted note regarding this piece of tech. It could simply be used to monitor one’s household and make sure that everyone is following the rules.

Having a surveillance setup means you’ll never be caught off guard as a homeowner.

The internet is a highly accessible and widely used medium through which an e-commerce business conducts commercial activities in the modern world. It provides a convenient, hassle-free way for customers to access products and services from anywhere in the world 24 hours a day. A solid online presence allows e-commerce and traditional businesses to monetize the internet by promoting their brand to a global audience to increase their customer base and boost revenue. Crisis Management Practices

Crisis Management Practices

However, the same qualities that allow companies to breach borders also make them vulnerable to cyber, human, and social attacks. Therefore, it is imperative to understand the threats associated with conducting business online and their potential for creating crises.

It is almost impossible to prevent crises altogether, but some key practices and pr crisis methods will help companies prevent, prepare for, contain, recover and learn from them.

1.  Customer Relationship Management

Customer satisfaction is paramount to building a strong reputation allowing businesses to retain existing customers and attract new ones. When customers lose trust in a brand, companies usually experience a public relations crisis, especially in today’s digital age. Consumers are highly connected and capable of impacting opinion through social media. The negative publicity can significantly damage the business’s reputation. For this reason, it is essential for e-commerce businesses, in particular, to prioritize efficient and reliable service delivery and excellent customer service. This involves engaging customers to understand their needs, responding promptly and sincerely to complaints and taking responsibility, and providing tangible recourse for service-related issues.

2.  Data/Information Security

Businesses must invest in robust security systems and regular monitoring of online platforms and databases to protect against cyber-attacks. Employers should tighten up controls, review staff training and accountability protocols and policies, and conduct regular systems checks to maintain the integrity of their platforms, especially now when people are forced to work away from the office due to the Coronavirus pandemic and can access sensitive information. Crisis Management Practices

Many organizations, both e-commerce and traditional companies that have established an online presence, offer convenient services like online banking, bill payment, and payment for retail goods, which typically require the use of online money in the form of credit cards. Not only could a cyber-attack or other forms of system failure result in reputational damage to the company, but financial losses to customers if their confidential information is not kept safe. This, in turn, diminishes trust and may result in customers bringing lawsuits against the organization for breach of privacy or personal losses, further exacerbating the financial losses the company could sustain.

It is also important to establish backup servers with in-built redundancies for easy retrieval of data to prevent long periods of downtime should the primary data center experience a significant failure or breach.

3.  Control Access to Online Accounts

Companies must ensure that they properly vet employees who are given access to their social media accounts. Too often, personal opinions posted by unmindful employees on the company profile expose them to business litigation, such as defamation lawsuits, litigation, and spark disputes as other businesses or institutions seek to obtain redress for libelous allegations. Fortunately, experienced lawyers provide specialist services in business and commercial litigation cases that help to protect the business’s interest and reputation. However, preventing these kinds of exposure is always best as, though the services are beneficial, they are also expensive and may still affect consumer confidence. Crisis Management Practices

Every business will experience crises from time to time, but having the necessary infrastructure, controls, and plans to address them in a timely and transparent manner will help solidify a company’s reputation and confirm willingness to live up to customer expectations.

Mulesoft development foundations is a series of blogs that guides you through the Mulesoft development basics from the “how to make mule code structured” to “things need to consider before deploying for production”. The mulesoft training course would help you in learning how to organize the program structure while developing the mule application projects. Structuring Mule Applications

Structuring Mule Applications

This article will guide you through how to structure your project code of Mule in the best possible way. Even though Anypoint Studio creates a project to work with by default, whenever we create a new Mule project, there are always a few additional things we can perform to make things easier. The benefits of your mule coding structure include:

  • Because the structure of all Mule projects is the same. It’s simple to establish a CI/CD pipeline.
  • The applications will be easy to maintain as any engineer would be able to select problems.
  • People will be aware of where to discover the project details, therefore there would be less demand for Knowledge Transfer meetings.
  • The project has all of the necessary information to start up and run.

Structuring the Core —  ”src/main/mule”

Every Mule config XML files are stored in “src/main/mule”. Anypoint Studio’s auto-generated code provides a simple structure, but as applications become more complicated, arranging files into distinct folders will make a great deal of sense.

Structuring common files – ” src/main/mule/common”

There should be two or many files in this folder. Here’s a list of them:

  • The “global.xml” file is designed to include all of a mule application’s configurations, including HTTP listener/request configs, property configs, and configs of external sys (AMQ or S3, etc.). There should be no flows in this file.
  • The “common.xml” file provides all flows which are similar to all of the different workstreams/APIs in project implementation.
  • The “Error-handler.xml” file is liable for addressing global/common errors throughout the application.

Structuring files specific to the API – “src/main/mule/<API Name>-<version>”

There’s a possibility that a Mule application will have many APIs. Integrating small APIs is an excellent way to save money. When numerous APIs are combined OR if a large application is built, distinct APIs or functionalities must be structured in various folders.

You may also like How to Use OCR Software to Improve Business Performance

Here’s an example of organizing files in an application that combines HR and employee APIs:

Structuring Mule Applications

Each API file exists in a distinct folder, which has the file “api-name-router.xml” containing the router of Api-Kit & other files containing the API’s various business subjects in files that are dedicated.

Structuring Mule Applications

Structuring the resources — ”src/main/resources”

Structuring the properties – “src/main/resources/properties”

Folder for Properties:

This folder comprises all of your Mule application’s properties that are env-specific. These will be incorporated in an application by referencing the property file depending on env using ${mule.env}. A good example can be seen in this image. Separate files will be used for plain text and encrypted properties.

“${mule.env}-secure-properties.yaml” and “${mule.env}-properties.yaml” must be used to separate this.

There is a requirement for “common-property.yaml” as well that would retain properties that are shared between environments, such as HTTP port numbers, logger configuration, and so on. The configuration of HTTP listeners must be shared across all APIs.

It’s vital to remember that property names in an application with multi-api must follow the very same naming rules for both common and environment-specific properties. All attributes for a given API should begin with the name-version of API, for example:

All certificates must be preserved in the resources/cert directory for every environment. Certificates should be injected through CICD pipelines for improved control over their lifecycle.

Structuring Mule Applications

Structuring Dataweave files – “src/main/resources/dwl”

Folder of DWL:

The resources/dwl directory should include all the scripts of dataweave. More directories should be added to include specific files of dwl for various business APIs/use-cases.  All dwl functions which are common should be kept under “resources/dwl/common” so as to reuse, similarly to mule configuration XML files.

Structuring the Test — ”src/test”

Structuring Munit files – “src/test/munit”

The munit files structure “src/test/munit” must be the same as in the “src/main/mule”. It facilitates tests for business use-cases or individual APIs in the same Munit folders and configuration XML.

Sample payloads and Postman Collection – “src/test/resources”

All payloads samples used in the test must be in src/test/resources:

  • Munit testing
  • In the Transform message, you can create examples and metadata.
  • Any additional file-example

In addition to the payload samples, “src/test/resources” must definitely include a collection of postman per API that contains all of the potential API queries per env. Creating multiple folders in collection for each environment is a good practice.

You may also like The Best Digital Signing Apps for iOS and Android

These all must be retained as: “test/resources/postman-collections/<api-name>-<version>/<api-name>-<version>.postman_collection.json

It assures that each new developer has a place to begin testing an application and hitting various endpoints in various contexts.

ReadMe File

The “readme.md” file should be included in the project core in addition to anything else. It should explain what the project is about, what APIs it includes, how to start, what runtime options to pass, and so on.

Conclusion:

With this session, you now become aware of how to organize the various Mulesoft application files by aligning them with the proper file structure. To learn more on how to work with Mulesoft projects, you need to get this Mulesoft Online Training course that aids in upskilling your talent.

Google Nest Hub

A high-quality smart display can make all the difference when it comes to executing voice commands, listening to your favorite music and podcasts, and controlling your smart home. After all, everything web-connected, from your home security devices to thermostats, relies on an Internet-of-Things host to get the ball rolling.

One of the top-tier titans for smart controllers is the Google Nest Hub. Sleek, interactive, loaded with features, and powered by the almighty Google Assistant, the first-gen Nest Hub delivers across multiple categories, but how does the first-gen model stand up against Google’s second-gen iteration of the popular smart display? We weigh in on both products in this head-to-head comparison.

Design

Both the first and second-gen Google Nest Hubs offer a seven-inch 1024 x 600 HD touchscreen. In terms of slight design overhauls, the second-gen features an edgeless glass display, similar to what you’ll find on Google’s latest Nest Thermostat. Dimensionally, the new Hub is slightly bigger all around, compared to its older sibling. The second-gen hub measures 4.7-inches tall, 7-inches wide, and 2.7-inches deep. The first-gen model is 4.65-inches tall, 7-inches wide, and 2.65-inches deep. As part of Google’s effort to favor eco-friendly shells and casings, the second-gen Hub is made with 54% post-consumer recycled plastic.

Color options for the second-gen Hub include chalk, charcoal, sand, and mist. First-gen stylings include chalk, charcoal, and sand. The second-gen Hub also adds a third far-field microphone for better wake word sensitivity in noise-heavy environments. Loud family? Big, booming rooms? No problem.

Sound quality

The first and second-gen Nest Hubs come with a 1.7-inch tweeter, featuring no mid-range drivers or woofers. While we’ve yet to get our hands on the second-gen Hub for a proper audio demonstration, Google claims the latest display offers a 50% improvement in bass quality, thanks in part to a design tweak that adds more acoustic space around the tweeter itself. Once we get our hands on the new display, we’ll be sure to update this section based on our experience.

In terms of first-gen sound quality, we’re not the biggest fans. Lacking sonic range and volume overall, there’s a lot to be desired in the sound department, especially compared to competitive smart displays like the Amazon Echo Show. With the same sized tweeter on both Hub generations, we can’t imagine that the new display’s sound will be leaps-and-bounds better, even with the promise of richer bass. But, we’d love to be proven wrong.

Camera

Neither the first or second-gen Nest Hub features a camera, an unusual design choice for a smart display. For those with major privacy concerns, this isn’t necessarily bad news. However, those hoping to take advantage of video-calling from a smart display, and Google’s Face Match functions, will want to set their sights on the Google Nest Hub Max or a competitive smart display like the newly-released Amazon Echo Show 10.

Smart home compatibility and features

There are some key differences between both generations of the Nest Hub. For starters, the second-gen Hub features a handful of behind-the-scenes improvements. Chief amongst these is a faster CPU for improved processing of voice commands and other functions. The second-gen also features an onboard Thread radio for Project Connected Home over IP (CHIP) support. In a nutshell, a live and hand-shaking CHIP ecosystem means your home’s smart devices will have a much easier time communicating and performing with each other, under one roof. While this feature isn’t live at launch, we’re excited to see just how much faster a home-full of web-connected gear responds to Thread broadcasting.

Perhaps the biggest addition to the second-gen Hub is a Soli radar chip. “Radar?” you may be asking. “Does that mean the Nest Hub is tracking me?” Technically, yes, but not in any kind of malicious way. For one, the inclusion of a Soli chip means gesture controls in thin air. By simply tapping in the air (in front of the display), you can play/pause media on the Nest Hub. The ability to skip between tracks is absent at launch, but a wave gesture for snoozing alarms is part of a much greater suite of Soli features. Want a hint? Okay, here it goes: Google wants to put those bustling Serta sheep out of business. Google Nest Hub

The Soli chip, microphones, ambient light, and temperature sensors operate in unison to help track your sleeping habits. Observed criteria include movement, breathing, coughing, snoring, and light and temperature fluctuations. Wait? Is Google watching me sleep? Fear not. All collected sleep data is stored locally on the Hub itself, with results viewable in the form of movement graphs accessible through the display itself. Only high-level disturbances (tracked coughing and snores) are sent to Google for further analysis. This data is also sent to the Google Fit app, where you can opt to receive advice on how to create a better sleeping experience for yourself.  Google’s Sleep Sensing feature-suite is available free until 2022.

If you hate the idea of Google studying your snores, you can disable cough and snore detection while keeping sleep-tracking enabled. You can also delete sleep-study results when you wake up in the morning.

Price and warranty

The second-gen Nest Hub will sell for $99, with pre-ordering available through March 30. The first-gen Hub goes for $89. Both displays come with a one-year limited warranty from Google.

Conclusion

If you’re torn between the first or second-gen Hub, we recommend going with the second-gen model. For one, it’s only $10 more than the original. In terms of future-proofing, it’s also the better of the two displays, even if you’re not on board with all the new sleep-tracking features. Outside of snooze analysis, you’re still getting touchless gesture controls, an improved display, an additional far-field mic, and Google’s promise of better overall audio.

For those that already own a first-gen Hub, we still urge you to upgrade, but only if you wish. Google is still releasing updates and features for the original Hub, including the new Ambient EQ sensor and Sunrise Alarm (both features also available on the second-gen Hub). We’re guessing it’ll be a while before the O.G. model becomes obsolete, so enjoy while Google’s support still lasts. Source

How To Convert a PDF File To Excel

Just because your coworker sent you a PDF file instead of the Excel document you wanted, that doesn’t mean you’re actually stuck with it. In this guide, we’ll teach you How To Convert a PDF File To Excel document using a few quick and easy steps. We’ll even teach you a few different ways to do it.

If you don’t want to go to the trouble of converting the PDF (whether password-protected or not) and would rather just edit it as is, we have a guide to the best PDF editors, too.

Using Adobe Acrobat Pro DC

As one of the world’s premier PDF reading and editing applications, Adobe Acrobat Pro DC is one of the more popular methods for converting a PDF into an Excel file. As fully featured as it is, though, it is a paid-for, premium application. Fortunately, there is a free trial, so if you’re just looking to do a one-off conversion, this method works great.

Step 1: Download Adobe Acrobat Pro DC’s seven-day trial and install it.

Step 2: Open the software, and select the Tools tab.

Step 3: Click the Export PDF icon. (You can also select the Export PDF icon in the pane on the right side without having to go through the Tools tab.)

Step 4: Click Select a File and choose the PDF you want to convert from the resulting window. Then, select Spreadsheet from the list of export options and decide whether you want a Microsoft Excel Workbook (.xlsx) or XML Spreadsheet 2003 (.xml) format.

Step 5: If you want to adjust your eventual Excel document’s settings, click the Gear icon on the right-hand side of your selection. You can choose how many worksheets are created, as well as what symbols are used as data separators.

Step 6: When happy with your settings, click the blue Export button.

Step 7: Decide where you want to save your new Excel document. Either pick one of the Recent Folders on show, or click the blue Choose a Different Folder button. In the resulting pop-up file browser, click Save.

Depending on the complexity of your data set and the speed of your computer, you may have a short wait while the conversion takes place. Once completed, the new Excel document will automatically open. You have now officially converted your PDF to an Excel document.

Using a free web application

We get it, these programs don’t work for everyone. There are many reasons that you can’t install these applications on your system, or maybe you would simply prefer that a remote server handle the brunt of the work for you. That’s okay, there are other methods you can use to convert those files.

You always have the option to convert a PDF to an Excel document online instead. Although there are a number of online converters to choose from, we have a favorite. We strongly recommend PDFtoExcel.com because it’s free, has a clean, user-friendly interface, and does an excellent job quickly.

We recommend caution if you use PDFtoExcel.com. While the company has said they promptly delete all data received within six hours after upload and that your files are “accessed only by automated software agents,” it’s better to exert some concern when it comes to your privacy rights. If you are converting essential or private data, it’s best to use a local conversion option as this is the safest protocol. Local conversion methods are best for converting personal, sensitive, or otherwise private information as they ensure the most protection.

With PDFtoExcel.com, you are in good hands because their efficient conversion method is an easy three-step process we have laid out below.

Step 1: Open a browser window and go to PDFtoExcel.com.

Step 2: Click the Upload button and select the PDF you want to convert. Alternatively, you can drag and drop it onto the designated area. How To Convert a PDF File To Excel.

Step 3: If you are working with an extensive PDF and/or data set, uploading the file and converting it may take a little while, but overall, the process should be swift. Once complete, click the Free Download button.

After the final step, your PDF file will be in an Excel format that you can download or edit. This document may require tweaking or formatting. We recommend checking out our helpful guide on how to operate Excel through the Microsoft Office app, where we outline handy Excel tips and tricks. Source

How to Stop Apps from Tracking Your Location

Do you feel like someone is always watching you and tracking where you are? If you do, then you are probably correct. Apps on your smartphone often include tracking that follows what you do and where you go. How to Stop Apps from Tracking Your Location.

If you want a bit more privacy, there is a way to turn off tracking. We’ll help you find out who is tracking you and how to put an end to it for both Android and iPhone devices.

If you want to know more, you can also check our guide on how to uninstall Apps in your Andriod.

Find out which apps have location data access

It’s a very good idea to start with a review of the apps on your phone that have access to location data. There are legitimate reasons for many apps to track your location, so be aware that denying access to location tracking may prevent some apps from working properly. A navigation app like Google Maps, for example, is not going to be anywhere near as useful if it doesn’t know where you are. Common apps to watch for location tracking include:

Rideshare apps: Apps like Uber and Lyft will track your location for their drivers, and they may do it constantly, not just when you need a ride. There isn’t usually a way to turn off location tracking for these apps without disabling them.

Deal and coupon apps: These apps try to glean as much information from you as possible for ad purposes, and that tends to include your location data.

News and weather apps: These apps track your data, in part to provide more targeted information based on where you are. But they typically don’t need to do so to operate.

Streaming apps: Yes, even apps like Netflix will track your location, and they don’t really have a good reason for doing so, except potentially dealing with geo-restricted content.

Social media apps: Some of the most infamous location trackers!

Car insurance apps: Many car insurance apps can use the sensors in your phone to not only check on your location but actually calculate how fast you are driving or how sharply you brake, etc.

How to prevent location tracking on an Android phone

If you have an Android device, and you want to turn off location tracking entirely, then it’s easy to do, although the precise instructions may differ slightly from phone to phone. At the moment, most Android phones follow a similar route, though this may change with updates.

On a Google Pixel 4, go to Settings > Location and toggle Use location off.

On a Samsung Galaxy S20 Plus, go to Settings > Location and toggle it off.

On a Huawei P40 Pro, go to Settings > Location and toggle off it off.

This will turn off all location tracking, so no apps will be able to access your location. It also means that, in theory, Google and the phone manufacturer won’t track or save your location, though there’s evidence it will anyway. You may also still get ads based on your IP address location.

Unfortunately, turning off location altogether also means that you can’t track your phone if it goes missing, you can’t see or share your location in Google Maps or other map services, and some other services and apps may not work as well as they otherwise would. How to Stop Apps from Tracking Your Location.

Another setting worth looking at if you want to limit Google’s tracking is your Web & App Activity. You can find full instructions on how to control and delete searches and browsing activity, which sometimes also includes location, from Google.

How to just restrict specific apps in Android

If you decide that turning off location tracking altogether is a step too far, you can still toggle off specific apps that you’d prefer not to have location access. Once again, the instructions will vary a little depending on your phone.

For example, on a Pixel, go to Settings app > Location > App permissions.

On a Samsung Galaxy, it’s Settings > Apps > Menu (three dots at top right) > App permissions > Location.

On a Huawei phone, it’s Settings > Apps & notifications > Permissions > Your location.

Review the list and toggle off anything that you’d prefer did not have the ability to track your location.

How to prevent location tracking on an iPhone

Things are a little more straightforward with iOS, so if you want to turn off location tracking on your iPhone, or just restrict certain apps, then you need to go to Settings > Privacy > Location Services, where you can choose to toggle Location Services off completely.

Bear in mind that this will impact some services and apps, such as Maps and Find My iPhone, so it might be a step too far. Although, it’s worth noting that Location Services can be re-enabled on the device if it’s in Lost Mode. You can put your iPhone into Lost Mode via iCloud. How to Stop Apps from Tracking Your Location.

In Settings > Privacy > Location Services, you’ll also see a list of apps that have location data access and you can tap on each one and decide whether it should be allowed to access your location Never, While Using the App, or Always.

What about the location data already recorded?

Now that you’ve prevented various apps and services from tracking your location going forward, you may be wondering whether you can delete the location data that companies have already collected about your movements.

If you have an Android phone, then you can ask Google to delete your location history. Simply follow that link, make sure you’re signed in to your Google account, and tap the Delete Location History button. Bear in mind that it will delete the information permanently and you won’t be able to get it back. You can sign onto your Google account on any device to delete your history this way.

If you want to permanently stop Google from every using location data again, this visit this webpage after you are done. Where it says Location History, make sure the option is toggled off. This is also a menu where you can see any past activities that Google has been tracking in addition to location, so it may be worth perusing.

Apple does things differently: Your iPhone constantly monitors where it is so that Apple can put together a list of Significant Locations, places where you frequently go and spend time (work, home, cafes, bars, parks, and anywhere else). Apple does this to automate destinations on the Maps app and reports that the data is encrypted and cannot be accessed even by Apple, but if you find it invasive then you can stop it.

If you have an iPhone, then go to Settings > Privacy > Location Services and scroll down to find System Services > Significant Locations. Sign in if you need to, and then look for the Clear History button at the bottom. Select this to delete past locations.

If you don’t want Apple to track this info again, make sure the toggle at the top is switched off before you close Settings.

Third-party companies storing your data

Unfortunately, there’s no straightforward way to pinpoint or remove the data that companies collect while you’re using related apps. If you want to take matters into your own hands, you could contact the specific company that is collecting your data and review their privacy policy. Most likely, though, they’ll have already sold your data by that time. There’s no law legally requiring companies to assist you in the United States. How to Stop Apps from Tracking Your Location.

However, if you’re a European Union resident, there are certain laws that protect you. Legally, you can request a personal copy of all the information a company has stored about you— which includes your location data.

On top of the right to request that data, you also have the right to ask them to delete it. For additional information about how to request your data and your privacy rights, you can explore the U.K. Information Commissioner’s Office guide. Even though it’s your legal right, you may have to jump through some hopes to protect your data. If you want to boost your privacy, there are ways to protect yourself. We recommend using one of the best Android VPN apps or the best iPhone VPN apps on your device. Source

Best Android Games

Even in our increasingly connected world, you may find yourself without Wi-Fi or data access throughout your day-to-day life. What better way to pass the time than to play a mobile game? Many of the most popular mobile games require an internet connection. Trying to open your favorite game while on a plane only to realize it won’t work can be a drag. To help you avoid that unfortunate dilemma, we compiled a list of the best offline games for Android that don’t require Wi-Fi or data access to enjoy. Best Android Games.

You may also want to check out our picks of the best Android games, some of which do require internet access.

Dead Cells ($9)

One of the more difficult games on our list, Dead Cells is also just about the most fun you can have offline. This roguevania action platformer sees you play as a failed alchemic experiment — a unique idea if ever there was one — fated to wander the halls of a supremely creepy castle. Explore, take down enemies, and find out what happened on the island. The threat of permadeath is real, and the progression is nonlinear, so every time you die, new levels unlock, adding an additional level of challenge. Dead Cells also has two modes to choose from (regular and auto-hit) and supports external controllers, if you prefer playing with a gamepad.

Terraria ($5)

Whether you’re already a fan of this classic action-adventure sandbox game on PC or console or totally new to the world of Terraria, it’s great fun. Explore a ginormous map (the world is randomly generated every time you start a game, so it’s never the same twice), mine blocks, and craft items to level up your character — and get ready to take on over 300 enemies and 15 challenging bosses that will test your skills. There are more than 20 biomes and mini-biomes to explore, with advanced building options that are easy to learn, so you can create amazing structures. When starting out, we recommend the Terraria Wiki guide, which will help you build your character in the early days. You can play alone offline — so you don’t need internet connectivity unless you’re planning on playing with friends in online multiplayer mode.

Eternium (free)

One for all the old-school role-playing game (RPG) fans out there, Eternium is free to play, and you can access most features offline. Choose to play as a mage, bounty hunter, or warrior, battling your way across three gorgeous handcrafted worlds packed with castles, dungeons, caves, forests, and villages to explore, or level up and learn new abilities across a range of endless randomly-generated levels in the Trials of Valor game mode. Along the way, battle skeletons, demons, dragons, and more, or team up with your companions to take down harder enemies and be rewarded with rare, epic, and legendary gear.

Sonic Dash (free)

Sonic Dash transforms the classic platform game into an immersive and endless running experience. Play as Sonic or his fellow comrades — including Knuckles and Tails — and dash your way through a variety of maps. The game introduces unique mechanics like Sonic’s homing attack and periodic hazard events that make each run different. You’ll even be able to face off against two the biggest villains in the Sonic franchise: Dr. Eggman and Zazz from Sonic Lost World.

Tiki Taka Soccer (free)

Whether you’re a fan of soccer — or football, depending on your location — or not, Tiki Taka Soccer offers most if not all the aspects of the sport with a retro-style twist. Create your own team, hire staff, and even buy free-agent players and compete your way through the most premier leagues in Europe. Simplistic and easy-to-learn controls make the game playable for people of all ages. This is the perfect game for soccer fans across the world.

Earn to Die 2 (free)

In a zombie-filled apocalyptic world, the only way to escape is to drive your way through. Carrying the momentum of a successful first version, Earn to Die 2 introduces the same side-scrolling game-play but with a new story mode that’s five times longer than the original. As simple as it sounds to drive through piles of zombies, strategy is required to beat the game. You must factor in the amount of gas you have, the durability of your car, and even when to accelerate and break to optimize your mileage. The rescue ship isn’t waiting forever, so hop on and ride your way to peace and safety.

Dumb Ways to Die 2: The Games (free)

Dumb Ways to Die took games by storm, and Dumb Ways to Die 2: The Games is just as good. The setup is simple — play a range of dumb but fast-paced minigames to score points and compete in the Dumb Ways to Die Games. There’s a large range of games to compete in, and most are very easy to understand. However, it’s so fast-paced you should expect to die a few times before it clicks. But that’s part of the game, and something you should embrace rather than avoid. Ads are served for retries, or you can pay to bypass that — with the fast pace, you may end up watching a lot of ads. It’s a lot of fun regardless.

Rayman Adventures (free)

Everyone’s favorite French platformer is back, and he’s on mobile. Rayman Adventures is everything you expect from a Rayman game — unique visuals, kooky designs, and tight platforming action — sewn up into an Android game. You can play as more than 55 characters across seven different worlds as you grow your Sacred Tree to unlock new adventures. Hunt down the Ancient Eggs, hatch up to 320 different Incrediballs, and use them to … er, beatbox? Apparently so. It’s a wild ride, and one that’s hard to say no to Best Android Games

Rebel Inc. (free)

Do you have what it takes to pacify a rebellious region following a devastating and destabilizing war? Rebel Inc. gives you the tools to prove you can. To keep your assigned region under control, you’ll have to balance spending resources on military and civilian priorities, from instituting reading programs to build literacy levels, to constructing new guard outposts and hiring foreign soldiers to help keep the peace. But whatever you do, do it fast, as rebel insurgents will be waiting to seize control of the country.

The Wolf Among Us (free)

They’re fairy tale characters — but not as you know them. The Wolf Among Us tells the story of Bigby Wolf, otherwise known as “the big bad wolf”, as he polices the magical community hiding in plain sight. Based on the award-winning Fables comic series by Bill Willingham, The Wolf Among Us challenges you to solve a brutal, bloody murder in a world where your choices matter. Set before the events of the Fables series, this is the perfect place to start with this series. The first part is available for free, with episodes 2 to 5 available for purchase within the game.

Monument Valley 2 ($5)

Monument Valley 2, the sequel to the 2014 sensation, introduced a heartfelt bond between mother and child. Protagonist Ro guides her child through the gorgeous, dream-like puzzle levels. The environments themselves are even more pleasant than the already delightful original. Seeing landscapes change with your inputs is perhaps an even cleverer illusion than the actual puzzles. Relaxing, moving, and utterly mesmerizing, Monument Valley 2 is one of the best puzzle-adventures on Android.

Hitman G0 ($6)

Agent 47’s move from stealth to tactical strategy made a whole ton of sense thematically. But we doubt anyone expected Hitman Go to be one of the better turn-based games around on mobile. Each grid-based level plays out like a game of chess. Characters are even rendered as model figures. Dispatching enemies while working through rooms is just as satisfying as it typically is in real time. Mechanically sound and wonderfully designed, Hitman Go is the turn-based puzzle game you never knew you needed. No prior knowledge of the Hitman franchise is required to fully enjoy it, either.

Alto’s Odyssey (free)

Keeping in step with its predecessor, Alto’s Odyssey is an automatic runner that replaces running shoes for a nifty snowboard. Unlike the original which stuck with conventional snowy alps, Alto’s Odyssey takes place throughout several desert-themed chapters. Chapters contain randomly generated areas to keep the experience fresh. The star here is the simplistic gameplay, which continuously has a level of freedom and joy to it rarely seen in the popular mobile genre.

The Witness ($14)

A collection of 523 line puzzles scattered across a majestic and mysterious island, The Witness is one of the best puzzle games ever made. Using rules cleverly learned through play, The Witness‘ puzzles gradually increase in difficulty. Soon you’ll be using the environment around you to assist in solving puzzles and it won’t take long until you’re obsessively working on solutions both in your head and on scraps of paper. Best Android Games.

To the Moon ($5)

Johnny Wyles is dying and wants to go to the moon, though he doesn’t know why. He enlists the help of two doctors who help to recreate memories of his life en route to granting his dying wish. From there, To the Moon quickly turns into a moving love story. More narrative experience than a game, To the Moon is well-written and accompanied by wonderful 16-bit visuals. If you want a great yarn, To the Moon holds one of the best game narratives on Android.

Plague Inc. (free)

A mainstay on the Google Play charts since its 2012 launch, Plague Inc. is one of the most satisfying and diabolical real-time strategy games around. At the start of each simulation, you create a virus that will hopefully wipe out the entire population (yes, it’s twisted). Thoroughly engaging and somewhat educational, Plague Inc. makes creating pandemics an experience that you’ll never get sick of (sorry).

Downwell ($3)

Welltaro decides to explore a well. That’s the premise of Downwell and an obvious one at that. What follows is a frenetic roguelike game centered around perpetual downward motion. Guiding Welltaro, you must avoid obstacles and enemies with the help of gunboots that only recharge when touching the ground. Downwell‘s levels are randomly generated, which makes each run different than the last. Designed to be played in portrait mode with minimalist monochromatic visuals, Downwell is an excellent, if very challenging, time waster.

Stardew Valley ($5)

Perhaps the ultimate town management game on Android and one of the defining games of this generation, Stardew Valley sets up well for mobile. It’s the perfect experience to play for short chunks of time every day. But you can also log long stretches in Pelican Town quite easily. Taking care of your crops and making small talk with the folks of Pelican Town is surprisingly rewarding. Stardew Valley‘s charming writing, endearing visuals, and addictive gameplay make it one of the best games on Android.

Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas ($7)

For a large-scale console-style experience on mobile, look no further than Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. The port of the PlayStation 2 classic runs well on mobile and the open-world third-person shooter gameplay still holds up today. San Andreas is one of the best Grand Theft Auto games. It also happens to be one of the best games on Android.

Wayward Souls ($7)

A dungeon crawler, Wayward Souls excels in delivering a satisfying and strategic action fit for mobile devices. Designed specifically with touchscreen controls in mind, Wayward Souls is one of the better roguelikes available on Android. Death is permanent, so each run is a new experience. And even successful runs don’t take very long. Surprisingly deep combat and six unique characters to choose from help make Wayward Souls stand out among a sea of average dungeon crawlers on Android. Best Android Games.

10000000 ($3)

Melding dungeon crawling with match-three puzzlers, 10000000 (Ten million) is one of the most inventive games on this list. The goal is to accumulate 10,000,000 points to escape the dungeon. Along the way, you tinker with rows and columns to match three icons in a row. Successful matches grant attacks, let you pile up loot, and even level your character. Puzzles change as you progress further through the dungeon. While it takes a few runs to get the hang of it all, 10000000 is a great choice for anyone wanting to shake things up and play something genuinely novel.

Florence ($3)

A wordless love story, Florence is a stellar visual novel that can be completed in one sitting. It magically re-creates the feeling of falling in and out of love with the help of gorgeous animations and simplistic puzzles. The puzzles themselves, though simple, cleverly help inform the player of the emotions of Florence and her boyfriend. Florence has one of the best love stories in gaming, and it accomplishes this feat without using words. That alone makes it worth a playthrough.

Limbo ($5)

A masterclass in minimalism, Playdead’s Limbo is an utterly unforgettable puzzle-platformer. You play as a young boy, working through ominous environments rendered entirely in shades of black and white as he desperately looks for his missing sister. The puzzles range from clever brain teasers to inventive physics puzzles. The star here is the chilling atmosphere, which is an unrelenting and omnipresent force. The game’s graphics are not only creepy but often gruesomely detailed — especially when it comes to the boy’s potential deaths.

Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of the Lions ($12)

If you excel in tactical role-playing games, Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of the Lions might become one of your favorite games. After all, this enhanced PSP remake is arguably one of the best turn-based strategy games ever created.

Participants will appreciate the medieval and extensive world map in this game. You’re bound to get into a few fights throughout your travels, but the game’s battle system will enable you to face any challenge that awaits your character. This video game is immersive; it’s full of quality, lovable character, and exciting storylines. You may find yourself giving over dozens of hours of your free time to play. Best Android Games.

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic ($10)

We know there appear to be enough Star Wars games out there to fill a galaxy. If you’re bogged down with choices or tired of the same old feeling of a game, we feel confident you’ll be drawn to Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic.

While the original version of this game was first released in 2003, it has withstood the test of time against competitors by offering a detailed storyline and rich role-playing challenges. Nearly two decades ago, the game became an instant classic. Today it’s experiencing a resurgence thanks to its Android remastering.

Try your hand at bringing down the Empire and use your skills to save the Republic. To get ahead, you have to become well-versed in the ways of the Force. KOTOR is a fantastic game for all RPG and Star Wars fans; This updated classic will keep you engaged and remind you of your love for Star Wars. Source
